7歳の時に息子が受けた左膝の手術を機にマクロビオティックに出逢う。食を正した半年後、家族みんながそれぞれに癒しと健康を取り戻し、食の大切さを体感。2011年より、カリフォルニア州にある小さな街、スコッツバレー市の森の中の自宅にて、日本人が古来から継承してきた「伝統食の素晴らしさ」をカリフォルニアの人達にもシェアしたいと願い、料理の会「Wanowa」を定期的に開催。朝食付きB&Bのホストとして、世界中の旅行者に、100%植物性の朝食を提供中。また、ヘルシー料理研究家として、ベイエリアにて、パーソナル・ヨガリトリート・イベントシェフとしても活動中。

It’s all about compassionate cuisine that truly nourishes our body, mind and spirit.
Shinobeau creates delicious soulful dishes using the finest ingredients grown locally in California; organic vegetables and grains blessed in nutritional values, seasoning high in flavor and yet kind to our body. She believes, when we nourish ourselves with excellent quality whole foods high in dynamic contents, we also cleanse our body and mind, reducing intake of toxins and impurities. Vegetables and grains grown with care is each well-balanced mini-universe of nutrients, full of healing properties to promote our health.
Macrobiotic cuisine she proposes enables our body and mind to better calibrate the natural rhythm of the universe more in tune with our unique constitution. Through her eye-opening experience, Shinobeau has convinced the power of synchronicity manifests when we eat right. She believes, when we eat right, we can automatically invite more positive experiences and relationships.
Shinobeau witnessed the healing properties of macrobiotic cuisine when her son, seven years old at the time, had undergone surgery to repair his severely injured knee. The specially prepared macrobiotic cooking during this ordeal spurred his dramatic recovery. Moreover, macrobiotic foods Shinobeau lovingly prepared for her mother also resulted in miraculous recovery from struggles with atopic dermatitis and other chronic ailments. These positive results Shinobeau saw first hand had inspired her to share her knowledge through “Wanowa.” “Wanowa” provides nutritional education, Macrobiotic and Japanese cooking instructions, catering and personal chef services. At “Wanowa”, she shares her knowledge of healthy diet and wholesome food preparation that incorporates the traditional Japanese teachings and values placed on “food as medicine.” Most recently, she developed vegan and vegetarian bowls of RAMEN using her hand-crafted noodles and special secret sauce and soup! Wanowa version of this popular dish is not only satisfying but super-healthy. ( The ordinary Ramen is usually very high in sodium and animal fat, let alone the high calories from the carbs) Wanowa’s healthy Ramen is favorably rated by the Bay Area foodies and has growing popularity with each bowl she lovingly prepares. Answering to increasing demands, she plans to share more and more of her innovative recipes and know-how from her kitchen.
Shinobeau holds certifications in Kushi Macrobiotics Foundation; Numerous Bakery/Desserts certifications from HomeMade Association. She loves to experiment in her test kitchen daily to come up with ways to incorporate the age-old traditional Japanese and Eastern food wisdom into modern health-conscious eating in the West.
