What is Wanowa? “Wa" in Japanse has many meanings. We also have many Kanji for “Wa.” 和(Wa) is the essence of the Zen aesthetic found in Japanese traditional art and life in general - it is harmony. 和(Wa), a Japanese Kanji adapted from China 1300 years ago, is originally made up of images for “cereal grains” and “mouth.” They knew that eating grains and vegetables led to a peaceful mind and healthy well being from ancient times. Another 輪(Wa) means a circle, ring, loop. Eating a healthy plant-based diet food, we can create a healthy and more balanced life in harmony together. Your balance can start right here in your kitchen, and your circle of peace will spread to your family and then to the world. You have all the power to make it happen! Let's cook together, and explore a whole new outlook of the food.
Peace begins in the kitchens and pantries, gardens and backyards, where our food is grown and prepared. The energies of nature and the infinite universe are absorbed through the foods we eat and are transmuted into our thoughts and actions. by Michio Kushi
